July Humane Education at Wilmore Summer Camp:
Here are some pictures from Wilmore Parks and Recreation summer camp. There were approximately 70 children there that day. And they were such a well-behaved bunch!
ACO Frank talked to the kids about safety around stray animals, and what ani...mal control officers do. Jenise talked about
the SAVE Center, responsible pet ownership and being kind to animals.

Happy Tail Story 2:
Dear SAVE center,
My boyfriend and I adopted a female Rottweiler named (at the time) Sammantha from you back on January 19th. Her new name is Lilah Faye. She has become the highlight of our home, and of course, the center of attention. She i...
s kind and gentle with our Chihuahua, our crazy cats, and visitors. She loves kids and thinks that the guinea pigs in our back bedroom is the best T.V. show to watch. She hardly ever barks, unless someone knocks on the door or we don't pay her enough attention the moment we walk in the door. She was crate trained from the moment we got her home from the adoption, and has now graduated to being a responsible well behaved girl dog, which allows her full access of our home while we are here. She has yet to give us any reason that her adoption was a mistake. We love her. Every day that goes by she shows us a new side of her, and they have all been beautiful. I wanted to send you some pictures in hopes that you would be able to use this story for your website. I still can't believe that she is as wonderful as she is. Rescue dogs are by far, the best dogs in the world.
Sincerely,
Rainer and Kathe

Happy Tail Story:  Tiny Tim
Tiny Tim came into the shelter last week as a "stray". Immediately it was obvious that something was very wrong because he was dragging his back legs. The man that brought him in had put little socks on his back legs to prevent the skin being rubbed raw. We were a little concerned that Tiny Tim might be understandably snappy because of his condition. But we were quickly proved wrong. Tiny Tim is a spunky and lovable little guy. He didn't seem to be the least bothered by how his back legs had failed him. His sweet personality really seemed to shine.

Some said that given his condition the best thing to do would be to let him go to the Rainbow Bridge. We didn't agree and were determined to find the right place for Tiny Tim. Rescuers are amazing and sometimes miracle workers. United Rescues of Kentucky (URKY) was instrumental in finding the right place for this sweet little man. Tiny Tim was found a home and ended up staying at the SAVE Center for only one night! He is now in a loving home and the family is working on getting a little cart for him to travel around more conveniently.
